Pakistan Postage Stamps - 1992

Year 1992 was a great year for Pakistan for it was this year that Pakistan Cricket Team under Imran Khan won its first Cricket World Cup title, which was the fifth staging of the Cricket World Cup. The 1992 World Cup was the first to feature coloured player clothing, white cricket balls and black sights-screens with a number of matches being played under floodlights.

The final was played on 25 March 1992 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, and finished with Pakistan beating England by 22 runs in the final to become the World Cup champions for the first time. This was Imran Khan's last ODI. Was Akram was declared as the player of the match.
 
To commemorate the superb winning, Pakistan Post issued a set of three stamps for the denomination of Rs 2, Rs 5 and Rs 7. on 27th April 1992 and joined the nation in celebrating its first world cup win.  
The Rs 2 stamp (top) features a photo of Skipper Imran Khan along with the trophy. The Rs 7 stamp (in middle) features the celebrations, fire works in background while Pakistan flag, Crystal trophy and a white cricket ball showing the map of hosts, Australia and New Zealand, printed on one half of the ball. The Rs 5 stamp shows the flags of all nine participating nations and Pakistan flag is flying above the rest.
The FDC was also issued on the occasion.

On the eve of National Seminar on Philately, Multan, 15 April 1992, a set of six stamps of denomination Rs.1, 1.50, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with portrait of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was issued.

Continuing with the series of stamps on the Pioneers of Freedom, Pakistan Post issued a set of three stamps on 14th August 1992:
