Pakistan Postage Stamps - 1996

Not many stamps were issued during 1996 by Pakistan Post unlike all previous years. This years, stamps were issued only six times during the year. 
 
 
The year started with the issuance of two stamps and a souvenir sheet on 4. April on the 17th Anniversary of the Death of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, 1928-1979.
3. August: The 100th Anniversary of Modern Olympic Games and Olympic Games - Atlanta, USA. The Souvenir Sheet included stamps showing portrait of Pierre De Coubertin & Olympic Emblem, Boxing, Hockey and Wrestling

Charles Pierre de Frédy, Baron de Coubertin, 1896–1925, was a French educator and historian, and founder of the International Olympic Committee, and its second President. He is considered one of the fathers of the modern Olympic Games.

 21. August: Restoration of National Heritage
8. September: International Literacy Day
25. November: Medicinal Plants of Pakistan series - Achillea millefolium
