Postage Stamps of Pakistan - 2009

The year 2009 commenced with the issuance of a commemorative stamp on the holding of the 10th ECO Summit at Tehran Iran on 11 March 2009:

 On 23rd March, the Pakistan Day, a set of four commemorative triangular stamps was issued on the theme of National Year of Environment 2009. The stamps bore some of the national symbols of Pakistan including:  National Tree Deodar, National Bird Chukar (above) and National Flower Jasmine and National Animal Markhor (below)
29 March 2009: Golden Jubilee of Habib Public School Karachi
 23 May 2009: On the eve of Completion 150 Years of Bai Virbaiji Sparivala Parsi High School Karachi (1859-2009), School Building & Insignia
30 May 2009: 75th Anniversary of The Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Building (1934-2009)
 10 July 2009: 3rd Death Anniversary of prominent Urdu language writer Ahmad Nadeen Qasmi 
 On 10th July, a special postage stamps sheet was issued on the eve of Contributing Sale Proceeds to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for the refugees of people of Swat, who had borne the brunt of militancy at the hands of the miscreants and terrorists.

The area was cleared by relentless efforts of the Pakistan Army which uprooted the militancy from the area and brought peace.


11 August 2009: Celebration of Minorities Week 5th to 11th August, 2009
A special stamp issued on 14th August 2009 to commemorate the Independence of Pakistan, showing Teacher and Students of a rural area with Pakistan Flag
 15 August 2009: Urs of Abul Hassan Muhammad Jamal-ud-Din Musa Paak Shaheed, showing the entrance to the mausoleum of the saint.
 16 August 2009: United for Peace
09 September 2009: Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Pakistan and the Philippines in 2009
 1st  Oct 2009 : 60th Anniversary of People's Republic of China

 
The last stamp fo the year was issued on 10 October 2009 on the Polio Day reiterating Pakistan's resolve for a Polio Free Pakistan - The Mother's Vision-Daughter's Mission, showing portrait of Muhterma Benazir Bhutto & Asifa Bhutto Zardari
