Year 2008 was a Benazir Bhutto remembrance year who succumbed to a terrorist act a year earlier. A number of stamps were issued throughout the year to pay tribute to the Daughter of the East.

*th OCtober was a sad day in history of Pakistan when on the morning of this day in 2005, a massive earthquake hit northern areas of Pakistan, taking a toll of some 100,000 lives. On the third anniversary of the tragedy, Pakistan Post issued a commemorative stamp showing female students and a school which has been restored since the tragedy and life coming back to normal - though scars will take much longer time to heal.
